Are You a Recent Graduate? Head to the Job Fair!
For many university students, the spring semester marks the penultimate semester at university. During this period, it's essential for students in traditional three-year programs to start seeking out potential internship locations, and those in technical schools are also considering their next steps, which might include applying to universities. If you're feeling uncertain about your career or studies, it's time to visit a job fair!
We've gathered some reasons why attending job fairs is worthwhile:
Job Fairs – What Do We Exchange Here?
In short: business cards, invitations for second-round job interviews, experiences, and insights. The essence of job fairs is the opportunity to meet and talk face-to-face with company representatives. These events can be considered the zeroth step of job interviews: you can reach company representatives without any obligations, ask your questions, and then weigh your options at home. These events are organized and sponsored by various companies independently, so you can attend several job fairs within a few months to gather information.
The next such event, for example, is Jobverse, taking place from March 1-2, which you should definitely make time for before or after school!

Networking Without Commitment
As mentioned earlier, a job fair is the perfect occasion to inquire about companies and positions without any commitment. What exactly do we mean by this? Here, no one answers your questions based on your resume. They don’t draw conclusions about you based on your email. You can inquire freely at the booths, talk to the company representatives, and ask questions you might not dare to ask in writing. Believe it, everyone is friendly in person, so it's worth giving it a try!
“I would like to apply for the job, we met at the job fair”
Companies are impressed when you show interest in them in person. If you decide to apply and send in your application, always refer to having seen them and talked with them at the job fair. You can mention an interesting question you asked or simply what impressed you about the company. This additional connection can instantly advance you to the first-round job interview, bringing you one step closer to your dream job.
Job Fair = Cool Merchandise and Special Programs
While networking and paving your career path are paramount, let's not pretend that's the only attraction. Even if you're not seriously job hunting yet, it’s worth attending for the cool swag and programs alone! Notebooks, bottle opener keychains, portable coffee mugs, and other handy items await you. Additionally, CV workshops, giveaways, and various career and lifestyle advice sessions enrich the job fair's program palette. If you need a break from scouting companies, you can sit down and listen to some inspiring talks.
