What is the Process of the Internship Program?
Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of the internship process, from application to professional evaluation:
Signing a Contract with Y Diák Cooperative
The first step involves signing a contract with the Y Diák Student Cooperative. This is necessary because we can officially undertake internships at partner companies only as cooperative members. Fortunately, the contracting process is fully digital, quick, and easily completed from our smartphones. After swift registration, we can immediately browse available internship positions.
Choosing an Appealing Company
Once we're members, we can begin our search for internship placements. We have two options:
Browse current internship offers. On the Y Diák website, we can quickly find internship positions in various fields. Select the one that best fits our major and interests, and then apply. (TIP: Mention at the time of application that we’re applying for an internship; the Y Diák staff will take this into account during the selection process.) Bring a new internship location. It’s also fine if we prefer an internship at a company that isn't yet partnered with Y Diák. In this case, coordinate with the chosen company to confirm if they will accept us as interns. If yes, the company contacts Y Diák to finalize necessary contracts, and we can start working soon after.
Coordination with the Employer Company
After securing an internship placement, the Y Diák team coordinates everything necessary with our employer company before the internship begins. We don't need to worry about official details since the cooperative ensures everything is set for our successful start.
Once the company confirms our internship, only a few minor steps remain before we start. Usually, we'll need to undergo a medical examination, but no worries—the cooperative also assists in organizing this.
Obtaining Necessary Internship Documents
Before beginning, we must obtain required internship documents from our university. After filling them out, we forward these documents to szakmaigyakorlat@ydiak.hu. It’s important to request documents compatible with cooperative employment specifics—again, Y Diák will advise us precisely what is needed.
Company’s Signature
Sometimes, documents from the university require signing by our host company. Either we personally deliver these documents to the company’s representative, or if more convenient, Y Diák can handle this for us. Ensuring that all parties—including the company—validate internship contracts is essential.
Submitting Documents to the University
Once all signatures and stamps are secured, documents return to us. At this stage, we simply submit them to our university’s relevant department or career office. This officially confirms our internship with the chosen company.
Starting the Internship!
With paperwork completed, we can finally relax as our internship begins, marking a new chapter in our lives. Learning should remain our priority, along with proactivity. Professional Evaluation
At the end of the internship, our mentor at the company prepares an evaluation of our performance, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement. Y Diák, as our official employer, provides certification confirming we successfully completed our internship hours.
We then submit these certificates to our university, officially concluding our internship program. Holding these documents not only proves we have fully met the internship requirements but also symbolizes the numerous experiences and skills gained.
